Robert Upton is an accomplished optical engineer with extensive experience in optical design, analysis, and development across various organizations. Upton has worked at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory, where responsibilities included the development of the Advanced Technology Solar Telescope wavefront control system. Upton's career also spans positions at Meta as an Optical Engineer and previous roles as a Lead Optical Systems Engineer at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Senior Optical Engineer at Sigma Space Corporation, and Senior Research Optical Engineer at Apple.
