Ruben Aghayan

Ruben Aghayan is a skilled research scientist and engineer with extensive experience across leading tech companies. At the University of Virginia, Ruben served as a Teaching Assistant and an Undergraduate Researcher, focusing on engineering ethics and thermal sensitivity experiments for NASA. Following this, Ruben worked as a Data Scientist at Microsoft, developing causal inference frameworks and predictive models, and then transitioned to Google as a Software Engineer, where significant contributions included a BERT-based customer support system and an alerting system that recovered substantial customer ad spending. Currently, Ruben holds the position of Staff Research Scientist at Meta, leading projects in AI tool integration and product transformations, while previously enhancing the Oculus app store's revenue and advancing search ranking systems. Educationally, Ruben earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
