Ruth Chen

Ruth Chen is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in competition and regulatory law. Currently serving as Director and Associate General Counsel - Competition and Regulatory at Meta since September 2023, Ruth has previously held the position of Associate General Counsel in the same field. Ruth's background includes significant roles at HSBC as Senior Legal Counsel focusing on competition law and at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as an Associate and Trainee Solicitor in Antitrust Competition and Trade. Ruth holds various degrees including a Postgraduate Diploma in European Union Competition Law from King's College London, a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from The University of Hong Kong, as well as both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Development Studies from McGill University and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of British Columbia.
