Sam Daulton

Research Scientist

Sam Daulton is an experienced research scientist currently working at Meta, contributing to the Central Applied Science team in the Adaptive Experimentation group and co-creating BoTorch, an open-source library for Bayesian optimization. Previous roles include a machine learning research assistant at Colgate University, where Sam developed a novel algorithm for cancer subtype prediction, and a computer security intern at Dartmouth College, implementing two-factor authentication for web servers. Sam has also held data science internships at Facebook and The Data Guild, leading projects involving Python programming and data analysis. Educational credentials include a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Oxford, a Master’s degree from Harvard University in Computational Science and Engineering, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Colgate University.
