Sathesan Thavabalasingam

Sathesan Thavabalasingam, PhD, is a data science professional with extensive experience in analytics, having held positions at various organizations including Tangerine as a Senior Manager of Data Science and Pricing Analytics and Data Scientist, as well as at Meta as a Senior Data Scientist focused on Growth and GenAI. Prior roles include Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science, where Sathesan developed WildFire, a web application that improves procurement efficiency in the public sector. Academic experience includes serving as a Research Scientist at the University of Toronto, where advanced statistical methods were applied to MRI data, and teaching undergraduate courses in functional magnetic resonance imaging. Sathesan has conducted independent research on cognitive neuroscience leading to publications and has been awarded over $100k in research grants.
