Shane Fitzgerald

Shane Fitzgerald is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in strategy, policy advising, and communication. Beginning a career as a Freelance Writer at The Irish Times, Shane contributed articles to prominent publications including The Guardian. Progressing through roles at the UK Parliament, Shane served as a Parliamentary Adviser and later as Lead Researcher, managing a team of policy advisers to support high-level government officials. At the London Borough of Camden, Shane led initiatives focusing on youth safety and change management. As a Senior Consultant at BearingPoint, expertise in public policy and local government was applied to deliver strategic reviews and process improvements. Most recently, Shane assumed the role of Global Policy Lead for Hostile Speech at Meta, overseeing policy development for issues related to hateful conduct and harassment in the EMEA region. Shane holds a degree in Economics & Sociology from University College Dublin.
