Shantanu Bapat

Shantanu Bapat, CFA, currently serves as a Machine Learning Engineer at Meta since November 2024, contributing to the Threads Relevance & Growth team by enhancing user discovery and follow recommendations through the design of advanced retrieval pipelines utilizing heuristics and machine learning models. Prior to this role, Shantanu worked at Vanguard from September 2012 to November 2024, where responsibilities included building and validating quantitative equity and risk models for active investment strategies and developing Python and Scala libraries for the forensic analysis of trading data to support compliance and operational risk mandates.
