Shobhit Verma

Shobhit Verma is an experienced engineering professional with a diverse background in mechanical design and product development. With a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Ph.D. in Mechatronics from Texas A&M University, Shobhit has held significant roles at leading companies. Shobhit's career began as a Staff Engineer at Maxtor, focusing on servo system design for HDDs, and progressed to a Technical Editor for IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. Shobhit served as a Technical Lead at Google, where responsibilities included leading the design of advanced camera systems for StreetView and Trekker platforms. Currently, as the Director of Product Design and Mechanical Engineering at Meta, Shobhit oversees a team of over 50 engineers, contributing to Project Nazare. Previous experience at KLA-Tencor involved the design and testing of opto-mechanical assemblies for advanced inspection systems.
