Simon Layton has extensive experience in software engineering and deep learning frameworks, having worked at NVIDIA from September 2013 to October 2017 in various roles including Senior Devtech Compute Engineer, Engineering Manager for Optimized Frameworks, and Senior Deep Learning Architect. Prior to joining Meta in August 2025 as a Software Engineer, Simon gained valuable skills as a Devtech Compute Intern at NVIDIA, contributing to integration and optimization projects. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Bristol and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, where Simon was a Ph.D. student from 2008 to 2013.
