Smitha Thomas

Smitha Thomas has over 14 years of experience in software engineering and leadership roles, primarily at Bloomberg LP from February 2009 to December 2021 as a Software Engineering Team Lead, where Smitha led efforts to re-architect classifications and benchmark data infrastructure for a prominent buy side order management platform. Prior to this, Smitha developed Bloomberg's first Enterprise Risk Management solution and interned at UBS Investment Bank, focusing on rule engine simulation. Additional experience includes positions at Tata Consultancy Services, Network Security and Applied Cryptography Lab at Stony Brook University, and an ongoing role as Software Engineering Manager at Meta since February 2022. Smitha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Mumbai University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.
