Sofia Baig

Sofia Baig is an internationally acclaimed spoken word poet with over a decade of experience performing across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia. As a freelance poet, writer, and performer from 2005 to July 2018, Sofia has collaborated with artists from Sweden and Egypt. In addition, Sofia served as an Artist Events Coordinator at the Silk Road Institute from 2014 to 2015, managing artistic partnerships and executing creative events. From 2010 to 2012, Sofia taught English to children at iZone Bandi Kindergarten, focusing on diverse subjects including science and art. Currently, since May 2021, Sofia works as a UX/Product Designer for the Meta for Business team, enhancing web and app experiences for major platforms. Sofia is also a Co-Founder and Designer at Atelier Émigré, which concentrates on product design for emerging markets, and previously interned in the marketing department of Joseph Ribkoff Inc., assisting in the organization of a fashion show. Educational qualifications include a High School Diploma from The Sacred Heart School of Montreal, a Fashion/Apparel Design degree from Collège LaSalle, and studies at Champlain College Saint-Lambert.
