Sungwon Kim

Sungwon Kim has a robust background in software engineering and research, with significant experience at Intel Corporation from January 2012 to June 2020, focusing on Graph Neural Network-based design optimization, ML-based PDK flow optimization, and deep learning modeling for circuits, devices, and EDA. Previously, work included roles as an AI Research Scientist and Imaging Research Scientist, developing image and optics CAD software. Currently, Sungwon Kim serves as an ML Research Scientist at Meta since August 2024. Academic qualifications include an M.S. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, a Ph.D. from Penn State University, and a B.S. from Yonsei University, along with a brief research tenure at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004-2005, specializing in micro ring resonator design and nonlinear optics.
