Susan Lin is an accomplished linguist with extensive experience in research and education. From January 2014 to June 2022, Susan served as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where original research in articulatory phonetics and speech production was conducted, and a laboratory for studying speech articulation was established. Susan mentored numerous students and taught various courses, creating course materials and assessments. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral role at Macquarie University, focusing on speech articulation acquisition, and positions as a Computational Linguist at Infinitus Systems, Inc. and as a Linguist at Meta, where contributions to conversational AI models were made through data analysis and programming. Susan holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Michigan and a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
