Tim Brooks

Tim Brooks is a seasoned professional in the field of artificial intelligence and software engineering, possessing extensive experience across major technology companies. Brooks commenced a career in photography with Timothy Brooks Photography, achieving recognition by winning a National Geographic photo competition. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in Logic & Computation from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of California, Berkeley. Professional experience includes internships at Facebook and NVIDIA, followed by research roles at Google as a Research Engineer and at OpenAI as a Member of Technical Staff, where Brooks co-led the development of Sora, a video generation model. Currently, Brooks serves as a Research Scientist at Meta after a tenure at Google DeepMind.
