Tom Bu

Tom Bu is an experienced software engineer and computer vision specialist with a robust background in robotics and applied AI. Beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Yale University, Tom further advanced education with a Master of Science in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. Professional experience includes roles at Segway Robotics, where Tom developed an Android-based app for robot localization; Cognistx, focusing on cross-camera person tracking solutions; Argo AI, where Tom explored multi-modal change detection models; and NEC Laboratories America, Inc., contributing to sensor calibration and 3D perception efforts. Currently, Tom is a Computer Vision Engineer at Meta, specializing in eye tracking technologies. Recognition includes a Spot Award in 2023 for contributions at NEC Laboratories.
