Tom W. is an experienced software and firmware engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and web development. Beginning a career as a Computer Engineer Intern at Epson Canada in 2007, Tom developed a software-based MPEG4 decoder. Tom further honed expertise at Qualcomm as a Staff Engineer, leading a software driver team that was crucial to successful product launches. As a Co-Founder and Lead Developer at iBeengo.com, Tom created a web-based road trip planner utilizing Ruby on Rails, HTML5, and JavaScript. Tom's leadership skills were showcased at Lyft as a Staff Firmware Engineer, overseeing the MCU platform team for the Lyft e-bike project. At Fitbit, Tom served as a Staff Firmware Engineer, technical lead for all Fitbit OS smartwatches, and is currently contributing to software engineering at Meta.
