Tom Wang

Tom Wang is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in hardware engineering and management. Currently serving as a Staff Hardware Engineer and Tech Lead at Meta since April 2025, Tom previously held the position of Director of Systems Engineering at Element Energy, where the focus was on developing battery energy storage systems. Prior roles include Senior Technical Lead Manager at Google, managing the development of various smart home devices, and a series of hardware engineering positions at Amazon, including Manager of Hardware EE for audio and RF engineering. Additionally, Tom has significant experience from Texas Instruments, where roles included Senior Marketing Manager and Design Center Manager, notable for establishing the first design center in China. Early career experience includes strategic management at Micrel Semiconductor and technical leadership at Lucent Technologies Bell Labs. Tom holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Virginia Tech, an Executive MBA from SMU Cox School of Business, and formal education from Zhejiang University.
