Tom Winter is an accomplished leader in data center operations, currently serving as Vice President of Global Data Center Facility Field Operations at Meta since February 2016. With a team of over 3,000 professionals, Winter oversees the safe and effective maintenance and modernization of Meta's extensive data center infrastructure, which encompasses more than 2GW of IT power globally. Prior to this role, Winter held various leadership positions at Meta, directing facility operations across multiple data centers. Winter’s experience also includes project management at Oceaneering and a distinguished 20-year career in the US Navy, where key roles included Commanding Officer of the USS MONTPELIER and Special Assistant to the Commander of Submarine Forces, demonstrating a strong background in operations, maintenance, and policy formulation. Winter holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S. in Engineering Acoustics from the Naval Postgraduate School.
