Usman Ali

Usman Ali is an experienced ASIC Engineer and Architect at Meta since January 2024, following a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut from January 2020 to December 2023, focusing on Privacy Aware GNNs/LLMs, Secure Architecture, and Side-Channel Attacks and mitigations. Prior to this, Usman Ali interned at Axiado Corporation in the summer of 2023 as a Machine Learning Intern, where responsibilities included data processing and generating modern security methodologies, and worked as a Malware Researcher at Ebryx (Pvt.) Ltd for FireEYE Inc. in late 2019. A visiting researcher at the University of South Brittany in 2018, Usman Ali developed a framework for testing cache architecture designs against timing-based side-channel attacks. Usman Ali holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Information Technology University.
