Venugopal M.

Venugopal M. is an accomplished data scientist with extensive experience in machine learning and recommender systems. Currently serving as a Research Scientist (Machine Learning) at Meta, Venugopal M. is part of the Representation Learning team focused on enhancing ad ranking using large-scale transformers. Prior to this role, Venugopal M. held positions at Shipt as a Senior Data Scientist II, where an end-to-end machine learning recommender system was developed, and at Walmart Global Tech, contributing to the creation of personalized recommender systems. Additional experience includes working as a Senior Data Scientist at Walmart, as well as positions at Samsung Electronics America and Tata Consultancy Services, showcasing expertise in Bayesian inference and tackling software security issues. Venugopal M. also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the same university and SRM University, respectively.
