Vimal Mollyn

Research Scientist Intern

Vimal Mollyn is a highly skilled researcher with a strong background in Human-Computer Interaction and Robotics. With experience as a Research Intern at Saarland University, Vimal contributed to novel microgesture interaction techniques, resulting in a paper at ACM TOCHI 2022. Vimal interned at Nimaya Robotics focusing on developing kits for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and has worked with the Video Computer Vision Group at Apple on 3D hand mesh tracking. As a Research Associate at the Future Interfaces Group, Vimal researched new interaction techniques and is currently a PhD student in the lab. Previous internships include work at the Indian Institute of Science on gaze-controlled assistive robots, various roles in algorithm development, and a Robotics and Computer Vision internship at Honeywell. Vimal's education includes a Doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University, a Dual Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and an exchange program at the Technical University of Denmark.
