Wei Chen has extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in camera technology. Starting as a Senior Systems Software Engineer at NVIDIA from August 2008 to September 2014, Wei Chen focused on camera drivers for the Tegra platform. Following this role, a position at Apple from September 2014 to August 2016 involved developing software for camera sensors, flash, and ISP. Wei Chen then transitioned to Essential as the Director of Software Engineering from August 2016 to April 2020, where responsibilities included building a 360 camera and leading the camera software team. Currently, Wei Chen serves as a Senior Engineering Manager for XR Camera at Meta, beginning in April 2020. Wei Chen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Sun Yat-Sen University and a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
