Wei Xu has extensive experience in software engineering, with a focus on speech recognition and audio communication technologies. Wei began a career at Honeywell as a Software Engineer, where key contributions included algorithm development for speech detection and lead development for the Speaker Independent Name Dialing Project. Wei further advanced skills at Voicebox Technologies Corporation, providing speech recognition solutions for automotive applications. Later positions at Microsoft included roles as a Senior Software Engineer for Azure Cognitive Services and Microsoft Teams, where Wei designed and implemented APIs for speech recognition and conversation transcription. Currently, Wei works at Meta within the Remote Presence Core Audio Team, facilitating real-time audio communication across platforms. Wei holds multiple degrees, including a bachelor's and master's in Electrical Engineering from Chongqing University, as well as specialized education in Speech Recognition and Language Identification from the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
