Yan Song

Yan Song, Ph.D., has extensive experience in research and engineering, beginning as a Research Assistant at the University of Science and Technology of China from September 2007 to June 2009, where Yan designed and synthesized photosensitive nanomaterials and assisted in instructional materials for Solid State Chemistry. From May 2010 to June 2015 at the University of Southern California, Yan advanced in the development of nanobiosensors and synthesized linker molecules while leading interdepartmental research collaborations. Since April 2019, Yan has been a Failure Analysis Engineer at Apple, and concurrently since June 2020 at Meta and Oculus VR, applying expertise in polymer science and materials chemistry as a technical consultant with a focus on failure analysis and project management during previous roles at Exponent from March 2017 to March 2018. Yan holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California.
