Yang Bai

Yang (Tony) Bai is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of Florida, with a strong background in deep learning and machine learning applications. Experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at DSR Lab and engaging in research on advanced deep learning technologies for recommender systems at Li Lab. Through internships at Meta as a Ph.D. Machine Learning Software Engineer and later as a Research Scientist working on Instagram Ads, Yang developed retrieval and ranking models utilizing state-of-the-art multi-modal LLM technologies. Prior experience at Nokia Bell Labs involved proposing a retrieval-based strategy for analyzing log data in ticketing systems. Yang holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Microelectronics, both from the University of Florida and Sichuan University, respectively.
