Yang Gao

Yang Gao is a Senior Research Scientist at Meta, with prior experience at Facebook and NEC Laboratories America, Inc. At Meta, Yang Gao has played a pivotal role in developing cold-start recommendation systems for short-form videos and enhancing multimodal content understanding models. Experience includes a Software Engineer Internship at Facebook and a Research Assistant role at the University of Texas at Dallas. Yang Gao holds a Master of Science in Semiconductor Device Fabrication and Test, as well as pursuing a Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Big Data Mining, both from the University of Texas at Dallas, supplemented by a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
