Yang Yang

Yang Yang is a skilled researcher with a background in computer science and engineering. Yang's experience includes a role as a Research Intern at MERL, where deep reinforcement learning algorithms for robotic manipulation were developed. Subsequently, Yang served as a Research Scientist at Meta in AI Applied Research and MRS AI Relevance from March 2022 to August 2023, before advancing to Senior Research Scientist focusing on RecSys and Foundations AI. Prior to this, Yang worked as a Visual-Inertial System Engineer at Google, creating a visual tracking and mapping system for phone-based VR. Yang holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Energy and Power Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, a graduate degree in Engineering Thermophysics from Tsinghua University, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
