Yi Yang

Yi Yang is a seasoned professional in the fields of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), with extensive experience across multiple prestigious organizations. At Bloomberg LP, Yi Yang served as a Senior Research Scientist and led initiatives in information extraction and Chinese NLP while developing the core ML/NLP library. An early innovator at Amazon, Yi Yang contributed to the Alexa team as a Research Scientist Intern, proposing a named entity recognition approach. As a graduate research assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology, Yi Yang earned a PhD in Computer Science, collaborating on neural networks and presenting significant datasets. Currently, as the Director of NLP at ASAPP, Yi Yang oversees a team dedicated to advancing AI-native products to enhance customer experiences.
