Yichao Lu

Yichao Lu is a Staff Research Scientist at Meta since August 2022, focusing on computer vision and natural language processing for smart glasses. Previously, Yichao served as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Amazon from July 2015 to August 2022, where responsibilities included utilizing NLP and CV techniques for brand intellectual property protection and enhancing customer issue resolution and agent productivity. Yichao completed a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics with a focus on Machine Learning and Statistics at the University of Pennsylvania from 2010 to 2015, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2010. During the academic tenure, Yichao engaged in research on fast linear regression and spectral learning algorithms and acted as a teaching assistant for undergraduate calculus and statistics courses.
