Yiwei Peng is an accomplished Optical Engineer with extensive experience in photonics and wireless communication technologies. At the University of Virginia, from August 2017 to May 2021, Yiwei served as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on the design, fabrication, and characterization of millimeter transmitters, photonic generation of pulsed microwave signals, high-performance analog photonic links, and low noise digital alloy avalanche photodiodes. Yiwei's professional journey includes roles as a Research Scientist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from July 2021 to June 2023, where contributions included developing high-data-rate wavelength-division multiplexing links and ultra-fast optical network interconnects. Currently, Yiwei works as an Optical Engineer at Meta since February 2025 and previously held an internship in RF photonics at Phase Sensitive Innovations, Inc.
