Zhenwei Cao has extensive experience in machine learning, software engineering, and academia. Zhenwei served as a Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech, instructing undergraduate courses in calculus and vector geometry, as well as graduate-level classes in numerical analysis and computer architecture. Zhenwei is the founder of ECE Trading, established in November 2025, and has held significant roles at various companies, including ML Lead at Capital One, where Zhenwei led projects related to large language models and user entity behavioral analytics, and Software Engineer at Meta, focusing on real-time ads bidding with reinforcement learning. Previous experience includes serving as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Walmart Global Tech, a Visiting Independent Researcher at UNC Chapel Hill, and an NLP and ML Engineer at IQVIA. Zhenwei holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Virginia Tech and has also earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Zhejiang University.
