Ryan Laurie's work experience begins in 2009 as a Paralegal at Hesik-Prybylo. From July 2009 to February 2013, Ryan worked in this position. In 2013, Ryan joined Gair Eberhard Nelson Dedinas Ltd as a Paralegal and later became an Associate Attorney in November 2014. In this role, they focused on white-collar criminal and commercial litigation, particularly in complex financial crimes and business disputes. Ryan worked at the firm until February 2020.

In 2020, Ryan joined Moonrise as a Full Stack Software Engineer. In this role, they led various projects, including developing a PHP monolith API, creating nodeJS lambdas and microservices, converting a legacy PHP website to an API-driven React web application, and leading the development of a new product called remotecall.center. Ryan also played a key role in automating release, build, testing, and deploy processes using tools like CircleCI and Github actions. Ryan left the company in March 2022.

Starting in March 2022, Ryan joined Metabase as a Software Engineer, where they currently work.

Ryan Laurie attended Wheaton College from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and English Literature. After that, they pursued their Juris Doctor degree at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, from 2010 to 2014, while attending night school. In November 2014, they obtained an Illinois Law License from the Illinois Supreme Court.
