Shane Whelan

Shane Whelan is a Senior Bioinformatics Developer at Metabolon, Inc., engaged in the development of an integrated bioinformatics platform for clients since July 2023. Prior to this role, Shane served as a Senior Bioinformatics Developer and Bioinformatician at Nuritas from October 2018 to July 2023, where expertise in software development and artificial intelligence led to the discovery of natural bioactive peptides. Additional experience includes a Business Analyst position at Pacific Radiology focusing on data analytics and automation, a Data Scientist role at Xanadu Consultancy specializing in big data and web scraping, and earlier positions in customer service and pharmaceutical production. Shane holds a Higher Diploma in Data Science and Analytics from Munster Technological University, a Master of Science in Immunology and Global Health from Maynooth University, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from University College Cork.
