Hester Bruikman

Hester Bruikman has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles related to product management, UX research, and design in the technology and creative industries. Hester is currently working as a Senior Product Manager at MetaMask, a position they started in April 2023. Prior to that, Hester was the Founder and Board Member of Web3 Creatives Foundation from January 2022 onwards. In this role, they produced Offscript, an experiential offsite for creatives in Web3, and built and marketed Web3UX, a user research panel.

Before their role at Web3 Creatives Foundation, Hester worked at Status.im from January 2018 to September 2022, where they held the position of Product/UX/Design. During their time at Status.im, they helped design and ship a privacy-first messenger, wallet, and dapp browser. Hester also served as a UX researcher at City of Amsterdam from May 2016 to December 2016, conducting research activities and supporting research operations.

Additionally, Hester has worked as a UX researcher at Facebook from January 2017 to August 2017, and as a usability and UX researcher at their own company, Hester Bruikman (uxenzo), from February 2016 to May 2016. In these roles, they conducted various UX research activities for clients such as Nedap, Philips, and Wolters-Kluwer.

Prior to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Hester worked as a UX researcher at ING Nederland from July 2014 to February 2016. Hester also gained experience as a usability engineer at Philips Medical Systems DMC GmbH from July 2013 to July 2014, where they planned and conducted expert reviews and usability tests for medical devices and applications.

Earlier in their career, Hester worked as a user experience designer at TP Vision from January 2010 to June 2013. In this role, they managed user interface design projects for Philips Television and worked closely with software developers. Hester also worked as an assistant at CIZ for a brief period in 2008.

Throughout their career, Hester has demonstrated a strong focus on user research, usability testing, and product management. Hester'swork experiences have allowed their to develop a deep understanding of Web3 technologies and a strong skill set in the field of user experience design.

Hester Bruikman pursued their education at the University of Twente from 2002 to 2008. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in Cognition, Media, and Ergonomics. Following this, from 2008 to 2010, Hester attended Eindhoven University of Technology where they completed a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) in User System Interaction Design.
