Robert J. Smith

Robert J. Smith has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Robert currently serves as a Scientific Advisor at Metavention. Prior to this, they were the President of AmeriSave Mortgage Corporation from November 2017 to December 2018.

From July 2015 to October 2017, Mr. Smith served as the Head of Mortgage Operations and Service Delivery at BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Before that, they were the President of Discover Home Loans at Discover Financial Services from August 2010 to July 2015.

From June 2008 to July 2010, Mr. Smith served as Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer for Cypress Insurance Group. Robert has also served on the board of directors for Atlantic Coast Bank from August 2003 to August 2011. From January 2001 to June 2008, they were Co-Head of PHH Home Loans, Inc. at PHH Mortgage.

From February 1992 to January 2001, Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer (MLCC) at Merrill Lynch. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert J. Smith has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration from the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. Robert is certified by the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (CPA - Florida). Robert also has certification from the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).
