Simon Zhang is a Senior Software Engineer who has worked for Meter, Huawei Technologies, and Intellipro Group Inc. Simon is also the Cofounder and Technical Lead for Eurus Studio.
Simon has over eight years of experience in software engineering and has been involved in developing over 20 projects. Simon is skilled in designing and implementing software solutions,containerizing micro-services, and managing service clouds.
In their current role at Meter, Simon is responsible for designing and implementing the block/transaction gossip protocol and message pool for the multi-node sync mechanism in the distributed service cloud. Simon has also developed backend services for decentralized applications based on the web3 interface. Additionally, they have containerized micro-services with Docker and written scripts with Jenkins and Ansible for automatic build and continuous delivery.
Previously, Simon worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Huawei Technologies where they designed and developed a distributed service for the VR real-time social platform. Simon was also responsible for reducing bandwidth requirements by 50% with the new data compression algorithm that they implemented. Additionally, they designed and implemented a test client that manages a pool of workers to simulate concurrent user usage, instrumented code with OpenTracing for performance profiling and tuning, and containerized the suites of three micro-services which were then deployed with Kubernetes on AWS.
Before Huawei Technologies, Simon worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Intellipro Group Inc for four months. Prior to that, they were the Cofounder and Technical Lead for Eurus Studio where they provided enterprise software solutions for Jiangsu Guoguang. Simon also developed the backbone framework eurus-pipeline, a core component that all of their software was based on. Up until 2017/1, more than 1 million transactions had been conducted via these products, and the total transaction amount was over 50 million CNY. Furthermore, they provided technical guidance and support for startups - two out of four projects were chosen for elite startup camp of Knowledge & Innovation Community (KIC), and one project had already been invested by angel investment of KIC.
Simon Zhang has a Master of Science from Purdue University in Engineering and a Bachelor's degree from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in Computer Software Engineering. Simon also has a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
