Mark Bowman

Mark Bowman is an accomplished academic and former law enforcement officer with extensive experience in public administration and criminal justice. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Methodist University since September 2009, Mark teaches graduate courses in the Master in Justice Administration program and oversees the Center for Excellence in Justice Administration. Previously, Mark held various positions at the City of Virginia Beach Police Department from January 1988 to September 2009, ultimately rising to the rank of Lieutenant and encompassing roles such as Patrol Officer and SWAT Officer. Mark's military career spanned 26 years in the US Army, where Mark achieved the rank of Major and commanded a Special Forces Operational Detachment A. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Old Dominion University and advanced degrees in Public Safety Leadership and Criminal Justice.
