Metis is a first of its kind, scaling and user friendly platform built to scale Ethereum and facilitate infrastructure development. The Metis Layer 2 is just the core component of the Metis Stack*, followed by the Reputation Power System, and the Decentralized Autonomous Company (DAC) Framework. The Metis Stack will provide the perfect environment for infrastructure development, day-to-day businesses, and other forms of open collaboration to take place.

When using Metis, users can rest assured that their transactions are being secured by Ethereum mainnet. Unlike other protocols claiming to inherit these underlying Ethereum features, Metis does inherit these benefits. Builders and users are truly interacting with, and secured by, Ethereum mainnet.

Many Layer 2s focus on being the best Ethereum Layer 2. Metis, on the other hand, is focused on creating the Web3 Economy. Metis Layer 2 is not the end goal, but instead it’s a means to an end. The scalability provided by our Layer 2 will allow further MetisDAO Foundation incubated products previously mentioned to be built on top. The combination of this fully functioning Metis stack will allow web2 users to seamlessly be onboarded onto web3 through:

✤ Simplicity provided by our DAC Framework: Smart contract templates to facilitate businesses’ day-to-day operations conducting processes and storing data in a decentralized and immutable way.

✤ Functionalities provided by our Polis and Reputation Power System: On-chain reputation unlocking capabilities such as user history, undercollateralized loans, achievements and contributions made, and more, which will allow web2 businesses to enjoy all traditional, and even complementary functionalities, in web3.

✤ Polis Middleware: One click, no-code deployment. The middleware will allow all kinds of users to offer their services on-chain, without needing to rely or trust in centralized parties.
