Sukumar Balla possesses extensive experience in data engineering and software development with a focus on big data technologies. From February 2011 to December 2013, work as a Sr. Systems Engineer at Mastermind Information Systems included understanding business requirements and participating in the eShop 2.0 releases. Subsequently, positions at T-Mobile and Microsoft involved developing in Hadoop and big data environments, with a strong emphasis on Python and Perl scripting, as well as the full Software Development Life Cycle. At Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Sukumar implemented map-reduce programs and developed Sqoop jobs to manage large datasets, while at Lowe's Companies, Inc., responsibilities included creating efficient ETL processes and transitioning to Spark. Currently, as a Sr. Data Engineer at MetLife, expertise is applied in advanced data processing and analysis utilizing Apache Spark and Scala.
