Chris Painter

Chris Painter is currently the Head of Policy at METR, where they have been since 2023. Previously, Chris served as the Founding Head of Operations at Alvea from 2021 to 2023 and was an Emergent Ventures Grantee at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in 2021. With a background in machine learning, Chris held roles as a Machine Learning Research Engineer at 4Catalyzer and a Research Assistant at OpenAI. Chris earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, along with a Master of Science in Engineering Robotics from the University of Pennsylvania.
