Jason Thomas is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in various engineering roles. Currently employed at Metra Commuter Rail since April 2016, Jason focuses on mechanical engineering for rolling stock capital projects and in-house rehabilitation of Nippon Sharyo-built cars. Prior to this, Jason served as a Controls Engineer at Advanced Boiler Control Services, managing BMS safety audits, combustion tuning, and operator training. As a cofounder of JT Motorsports Inc., Jason was involved in the engineering design and fabrication of high-performance off-road racing parts. Jason's earlier experience includes working as a Field Service Engineer at Alstom Power, providing on-site services for power generation, and as an Engineer at Caterpillar Inc., creating engineering drawings and performing computer modeling for mining equipment. Jason holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
