John Plante

John Plante has extensive experience in transit safety and emergency preparedness, currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors for Metra since October 2013. Prior to this, John retired from the Chicago Transit Authority in August 2013, where John served as Senior Manager of Emergency Preparedness and previously held the position of Senior Manager of System Safety. John continues to contribute to the field by teaching Effectively Managing Transit Emergencies for the Transit Safety Institute and participating in the American Public Transportation Association Security Standards Committee working groups. John's educational background includes a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
