Steven Mannella

Steven Mannella currently serves as the Manager of Transportation Planning at Metra Commuter Rail, having progressed from roles including Principal Planner and Transportation Analyst since joining in September 2015. In this capacity, Steven leads strategic planning efforts and commuter rail studies while collaborating with analysts to evaluate performance metrics related to service and ridership. Prior experience includes serving as a Performance Analyst at the City of Chicago Inspector General's Office, auditing government programs for effectiveness and efficiency, and as a Service Analyst in Metra's Division of Strategic Capital Planning, where ticket sales data were analyzed for policy impact assessment. Additional roles included managing freight intermodal projects at the Cook County Highway Department and contributing to market research at H.W. Lochner. Steven holds a Master of Urban Planning and Policy with a focus on Transportation Planning and Economic Development from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning and Economics from the University at Buffalo.
