Andy Shaw

Andy Shaw currently serves as the Director of Government Affairs at Metro, a role held since March 2008, with prior positions including Interim Director of Planning, Development and Research, Regional Affairs Manager, Chief of Staff to the Metro Council President, and Infrastructure Finance Manager. Before joining Metro, Shaw worked at the League of Oregon Cities as an Intergovernmental Relations Associate, focusing on public finance, urban renewal, and transportation policy. Additional experience includes roles as a Legislative Analyst at the New Zealand Commerce Commission, Chief Consultant for the California State Assembly's Committee on Human Services, and Legislative Advocate for the County Welfare Directors Association of California and Santa Clara County Social Services Agency. Shaw's educational background includes a BA in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, an MPPA in Public Policy and Administration from California State University-Sacramento, and an Advanced Certificate in Public Relations from the Institute for Public Relations in the UK, among other relevant certifications and training.
