Jonathan Blasher

Jonathan Blasher serves as the Parks and Nature Director at Metro since August 2017, where responsibilities include protecting water quality, preserving wildlife habitats, and enhancing public access to nature through a network of parks and trails. Prior to this role, Jonathan held various leadership positions at Playworks from August 2004 to August 2017, culminating in the position of Pacific Northwest Executive Director. In this capacity, Jonathan managed overall operations, overseeing a staff of 35, handling a $2 million annual budget, and fostering strong partnerships with schools and community organizations. Additionally, Jonathan's experience includes roles as Program Manager, East Bay Program Director, and Program Coordinator, focusing on program development, staff training, and grant management. Jonathan holds an Executive MBA from the University of Oregon and a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
