Believe it or not, the "CD"​ in Metro CD Engineering is an abbreviation of "Chow Dog."​  While a student at Ohio Northern University, Michael Chow picked up the nickname "Chow Dog"​ and it seemed more creative than simply "Chow Engineering"​.  Who says engineers don't have a sense of humor?
