David Appleton has extensive experience in the glazing industry, having spent over 28 years at Metro Performance Glass where roles have included Glazing Business Manager, Retrofit Manager, Glazing Manager, and Sales Representative. Prior to this, David worked briefly as a Factory Hand at W Gartshore Ltd and served as Factory Manager at Sunray Products for nearly 11 years. Education includes attendance at Tauranga Boys College from 1983 to 1984 and Te Puke High School from 1982 to 1983.

Metro Performance Glass (MPG) is one of Australasia’s leading glass suppliers and has been in operation for more than 30 years. MPG operates from more than 20 sites in New Zealand and Australia, including four NZ and three Australian manufacturing sites that and are responsible for producing a range of customised glass products that are predominantly used in residential and non-residential construction applications such as windows, doors, internal partitions, balustrades, showers, mirrors, furniture and splashbacks. During our 30 years in operation, we have set operational, product and safety benchmarks in the glass industry. The company currently employs approximately 1200 employees across NZ and Australia in a wide variety of roles including operations, glazing, commercial, sales, driving, manufacturing, engineering and support services.
