Nathaniel Olsen

Nathaniel Olsen is a Research Scientist at Metron, Inc. since December 2022, with a robust background in mechanical and biomedical engineering. Previously, as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Utah from May 2017 to December 2022, Nathaniel developed advanced algorithms for drone localization and tracking, demonstrating expertise in information theory, Kalman filtering, and particle filtering. Nathaniel also contributed to various research projects, including the design of smart football helmets and a 3D printable prosthetic wrist. During an undergraduate research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Nathaniel created a testbed for human-robot interaction data collection. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Robotics and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah, complemented by an Associate of Science degree from Ensign College.
