Travis Smith

Travis Smith is an accomplished engineer specializing in advanced mathematics applications, currently employed at Metron Inc. since March 2023, focusing on the research, development, and deployment of sensing systems and algorithms through signal processing and applied mathematics. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology and Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University from November 2012 to January 2018 and completing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California, where research involved fine-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cardiac imaging. Travis Smith holds both a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Prior to academia, experience included time as a Senior Research Scientist at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems and an internship as a Research Analyst in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Industrial Policy.
