Matthew Hicks

Matthew Hicks currently serves as the Manager of Metallurgical Process Development at Metso, a position held since May 2023. Prior to this role, Matthew spent nearly three years as the Development Manager for Minerals Processing at Metso Outotec, following a versatile career that began at Outotec, where Matthew worked in various specialist roles. Academic credentials include a PhD in Geology/Minerals Processing from the University of Oulu (2018-2024), a Master's degree in Bedrock and Economic Geology from the University of Helsinki (2011-2015), and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of South Florida (2008-2011). Additionally, Matthew has experience in teaching GIS applications and mineralogy at the University of Helsinki. Matthew's background also includes military service as a Medic in the Army National Guard.
